I work in porcelain, mainly reduction firing to 1300 with a pale blue Celadon glaze.
My aim is to deal with the complexities of surface and pattern. The influence and
style of my work stems from my drawings and studies of futuristic and eco-utopian
architecture. I press thin sheets of porcelain into motives found in computer components
and those found in the natural world such as vein structures and honey combs. My
intention is to consider the space between the random and organic natural world and
the hard edged perfection of advancing technologies, creating a dialogue between
those two dimensions.
